We have received reports from UHCL users who are unable to access the library databases and e-resources with their single sign-on username and password.  At this time, we suspect the issue is due to inconsistent synchronization between the user account database for campus email/Blackboard and the library database server.

As we work with the Support Center to find a solution to this problem, here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue on your own:

1. Go to https://profiles.uhcl.edu/ResetPassword and sign in to reset your password. You should do this even if you have reset your password recently.

2. After you reset your password, wait 20 minutes before attempting to access the library database or e-resource again. (This gives the library database server time to update with your new password; if you attempt to log in with your old password too many times, you may get blocked, so waiting 20 minutes is very important.)

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please see the Database Access guide for troubleshooting information or to fill out a Problem Report Form: https://uhcl.libguides.com/dba

You can also submit your question to a librarian on duty through our Ask a Librarian page: https://uhcl.libanswers.com/ Please be prepared to provide the following information:

  • The name of database or e-resource you are trying to access
  • The web browser you are using
  • A specific description of the problem, such an error message or screenshot
