Use the Boolean or logical operator "NOT" to exclude a term from your search results.

  • titanic NOT movie
  • martin luther NOT king
  • python NOT monty

Use "NOT" with caution as it sometimes excludes records that would be helpful.

"NOT" can be used in most research databases and OneSearch. Use "AND NOT" in the Library Catalog.
